Heading down Holly Street into downtown, turn right on Cornwall Ave. Kendrick's is in the middle of the block on your right. Description: An all-ages pool hall, espresso bar and eatery, Kendrick’s Billiards is in a class of its own as far the restaurant scene in Bellingham goes. If you’re trying to decide on someplace for lunch downtown, Kendrick’s fits the bill nicely. They serve very reasonably priced panini sandwiches, soups and salads, wraps and quesadillas, and even an all beef hot dog. They are also licensed to serve beer (bottled or on tap) and wine. If all you need is caffeine, Kendrick’s can take care of that for you as well. They serve espresso, coffee and anything else you’d expect from a full-service coffee shop, using quality, locally roasted beans. And then there’s the thing that makes Kendrick’s unique, and is its raison d’etre: the billiards. When you walk into the place, you may get the feeling that you’ve just stepped into a 1930s -- era pool hall. Kendrick’s is a large, high-ceilinged establishment, with richly colored walls and a large quantity of pool tables -- 10, to be exact. Kendrick’s offers lessons and hosts tournaments, and as long as you’re tall enough to handle your cue, your age doesn’t matter. Kendrick’s has been open since 2004, and has apparently been doing a brisk -- though somewhat seasonal -- business ever since. You’ll find it trickier to secure a pool table when the weather convinces people that it’s nicer indoors, especially on a Friday or Saturday evening. But if it’s a game of billiards you’re after, there’s no finer place in town. Written By: Lisa Holt Map In This Category
