The Lemon Grass Café, like many Thai food restaurants, rates the spiciness of their dishes from one to four stars. We had a toddler with us, so we thought it safest to go with one star. When the food came, it was slightly spicy. The toddler drank quite a bit of water between bites of chicken curry and coconut milk soup, but kept eating. The portions seemed just right, and included soup, salad and a bowl of steamed rice for the table. (Lunch entrees are served with rice and soup.)

There were only two or three other tables seated in the dining room when we were there (very early in the dinner hour), but the dining room is large enough to seat a substantial number of diners. My guess is that you wouldn’t have to wait long for a table on a busy weekend night. If you’ve brought a crowd of more than four with you, you might be lucky enough to be seated in the charming Asian-style booths tucked into south wall of the dining room. And once you’ve swallowed a spring roll or two, I guarantee your craving for good Thai food will be well under your control.

I love the Lemongrass Cafe's express lunch special. Weekdays it's just $4 and you get a ton of food. They also have quick service. I have time to eat my lunch there during my 30 min lunch break. They may not be the very best in town, but if you want quick, cheap, and good Thai food then the Lemongrass is the place to go.

I am new to Lemon Grass over the summer, I have already been there twice. The service is great. I have a four year old, and he loved the sweet n sour chicken. He played peek a boo with someone in the kitchen. Thats how nice they are, they didn't make an ugly face at him and ignore him. I am so glad for the number system, I do not like hot, spicy, anything. I always have Phad Thai Chicken, the salad is so great tasting. I would like to go back again soon, I love your food. Thanks for always being there.

The Lemongrass is the best in town. House of Orient is also good. I really like Thai food. I'm only on here because it's 10:30pm, and I'm starving for some Thai. I'm so bummed that everywhere's closed. I don't know who to turn to for help. Please feed me.

I have been to every Thai restaurant in Bellingham and the surrounding areas, multiple times.Truthfully, I wouldn't describe any of them as amazing or authentic. But, of course some are better than others.Most taste the same because the recipes come from a single restaurant. Chefs branch out from original restaurants and open their own using similar recipes. As far as quality of ingredients and customer care, On Rice leads the way. The food at Lemongrass Cafe is not worse but definitely not better than the competition. Also, as of about 3 years ago there is not a single Thai chef cooking at Lemongrass, mostly Japanese. Finally, diners are always complaining about price. The prices in bellingham do not vary by more than about $1 for the same dish. Still, they are from 7 to 10 dollars, which is very reasonable. Good Thai food takes a lot of preparation and uses only fresh vegetables, the meats are hand sliced, and ingredients are sometimes hard to get. Yet, most Americans do not think twice when they spend $10 dollars for a 1/3lb hamburger with never ending fries. Any high school lunch lady can make that meal. Although the Lemongrass may not be as "fancy" as all the other new thai restaurants, their food tops the rest, and that is what matters in the end. I think they have a more authentic thai feel as opposed to all the other ones. The workers are friendly and I always receive great and quick service. Next time you go in, I would recommend the Spicy Green Beans 4 stars!

The Lemon Grass boasts some of the most authentic Thai food you can get. If you're in the mood for Americanized Thai, and just want some Phad Thai and Curry, you would probably be happier somewhere else. But for some excellent Tom Yum soup (my favorite) this place is the best. Also their spicy green bean is always on the special board, and always delicious.

They have excellent food and I have always been served quickly. Everyone is very nice and helpful, even with my 1 year old son. Highly recommend the Lemon Grass.

LemonGrass Thai Cafe (or LGTC as I call it) is no longer the reigning king of Thai in Bellingham, and that's a shame. People go to On Rice, Busara, and Phad Thai simply because they are newer and have fancier decorations. I go to Lemongrass simply because it has better food that costs less. When someone with little thai experience tells you how much they love the newest thai restaurant, despite the higher prices, ask yourself if this is really a person whose opinion you should trust... Any of the Thai places listed above can make decent curry and phad thai (so if you are one of the people that cares only about how new and fancy a place is, you will be happiest at Busara), but Lemongrass's Phad Kee Mao is UNBELIEVABLE. I have had it dozens of times, both at Lemongrass and at the competitors, and there can be no doubt that Lemongrass's Kee Mao IS THE BEST. It's just not even close. All this talk about it is making me hungry... I gotta go to the LGTC!

I've come here twice, and the second time, I really didn't want to. Both times I went, our food took over 45 minutes to be brought to the table after we were served our soup and salad. And it only came out after I had asked if they forgot about us. They claimed they were waiting on one dish. Needless to say, the food was cold. They only came to fill our water once throughout the meal (which is a no no with spicy Thai food), and that was during our salad. Our ten-person party was seated in two separate tables with two different servers, yet we were given our checks with a 15% gratuity included into the total (There was no separate note saying gratuity was included, it was just in the total). When we asked why we had to pay a so much, our server just said with a smile that we had a large party and there was an automatic gratuity and walked away with no other explanation. Myself, as well as the 9 other people I went there with and anyone I talk to about it will never eat there again. Conclusion: Bad service, mediocre food, horrible experience. On Rice just next door has much better Thai food, service, and selection.

You wont find better Thai then this. Other places overcook there noodles and overcharge on the normal dinner sides, salad/rice. The best in bellingham, Probably the most Decently priced as well. Pad Thai by costco might be trendy with theire martini bar and hip young staff. But their thai is expensive and lackluster. Try Lemon Grass once and you'll be a fan, I promise!!

I would certainly not call this the best Thai food in town. While it is very good. "Pad Thai" In northern Bellingham Off the guide near costco, is far superiour with a larger menu and martini bar. Pad Thai, even has a sushi bar for those who like sushi and fantastic lunch specials. I'm there weekly. (at least once)

The Lemon Grass in Bellingham is by far the best Thai restaurant in the North West. I have been to other local hot spots including Pad thai, Busara and On rice. I have also been to the Thai house and House of Thai in Everett, Nibanna and Thai King in Bellevue as well as Thai Ginger and the Tiger room in Seattle. I think however, it is safe to say that The Lemon Grass in Bellingham is by far the best Thai restaurant in the North West. Not only is the atmosphere excellent from the decorations, to the service to the music, but also the food is excellent. Every meal comes with a complimentary soup and salad that are so tastefull people will pay money to buy them seperately. Also, the food comes out quickly at just the right temperature perfectly proportioned. I highly recommend the Lemon Grass to anyone who is as serious about enjoying their meals as I am. Thanks Lemon grass for exceptional service over the last 5 years!!!!!
