Heading east on Sunset Drive, turn left on Hannegan Road and continue to the Kelly Road intersection. Turn right (east) on Kelly and Kelly Park Stables is the first drive on the right. Description: This establishment is ideal for young riders. Not only will they gain riding skills, but also stable management knowledge -- grooming and tacking up. Both English and Western lessons are offered at $14 per hour for group lessons, no more than seven riders in a group. Kelly Park Stables is also heavily involved in 4-H and runs a summer camp for young riders -- 2 ½ hours in the morning for $100 per week. Adult beginning riders are also welcome and lessons are offered for adults in the late afternoon early evening. It may be best to start out in the fall once the busy summer day camp season and 4-H shows are over. This stable offers the ideal introduction to the world of horses, from here you can decide how you want to specialize and then maybe move onto an establishment such as Carousel Farms for more specialized training.
